Frequently Asked Questions
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based healthcare model where patients pay a simple monthly fee for primary care without insurance billing in the middle. At Thrive, this means longer appointments, same or next-day visits, direct access to your doctor, transparent pricing, and no surprise bills.
Thrive combines the best parts of concierge care with the affordability of Direct Primary Care. Unlike traditional concierge practices that often charge large annual retainers and charge copays for every visit, Thrive offers flat monthly membership pricing with no copays, and predictable costs while still providing high-touch personalized care.
Thrive does not bill insurance, and this is intentional. By removing insurance paperwork and administrative barriers, we are able to spend more time with patients, offer transparent pricing, provide flexible care via telemedicine, phone or in-person, and focus on medical decision-making instead of billing codes. You can still use your insurance for labs, imaging, specialist visits, and hospital care, and we help coordinate these services.
Yes, having health insurance is still recommended with DPC. Many patients pair Thrive with employer insurance, high-deductible health plans, or marketplace plans for services outside of primary care. This approach provides everyday access through Thrive while maintaining protection for major medical emergencies.
Your Thrive membership includes unlimited office visits, same or next-day appointments (on business days), extended visit times, direct secure messaging with your physician, preventive care, chronic disease management, care coordination, prescription management, and many basic in-office procedures. There are no copays or per-visit fees.
No. Thrive is built on transparent pricing. What we quote is what you pay. If a service such a home visit or after hours visit is not included, we discuss the cost with you in advance so there are no surprise bills later.
Appointments at Thrive are typically thirty to sixty minutes depending on your needs. This allows time for meaningful conversations, education, prevention-focused care, and addressing multiple concerns in one visit without feeling rushed.
Most Thrive members can be seen the same day or next day. There are no long wait lists, no weeks-long booking delays, and fewer urgent care visits for issues that can be handled in primary care.
Yes. Members have secure direct messaging access from 8am-8pm on weekdays for quick questions, medication concerns, follow-ups, and guidance without always needing an in-person visit. This is one of the most valued benefits of Thrive membership.
Thrive Direct Primary Care currently serves adult patients and focuses on comprehensive adult primary care.
Thrive manages most primary care needs including high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disease, asthma, anxiety and depression, preventive care, women’s health, acute illness, weight management, and overall wellness. When specialty care is needed, we help coordinate referrals and follow-up.
Yes. Same-day sick visits are a core part of the Thrive model. Whether you have a cough, fever, sore throat, urinary symptoms, rash, or minor injury, we aim to see you quickly and reduce the need for urgent care or emergency room visits.
Yes. Thrive acts as your healthcare advocate and coordinator. We assist with specialist referrals, medication management, hospital follow-up, second opinions, and navigating insurance-related questions so you do not have to manage complex healthcare systems alone.
Signing up is simple. You choose your membership plan, complete enrollment online, schedule your first visit, and begin receiving personalized primary care with Thrive.
No. Thrive memberships are month-to-month with no long-term contracts. You stay because you value the care, not because you are locked into an agreement.
Yes. Thrive is currently accepting new patients.
Yes. Under IRS guidance effective January 1, 2026, individuals enrolled in qualifying Direct Primary Care arrangements like Thrive may both contribute to a Health Savings Account and use HSA funds tax-free to pay Direct Primary Care membership fees. This change allows patients to pair Thrive with an HSA-eligible health plan and use pre-tax dollars for everyday primary care. Thrive is structured to meet current IRS requirements for HSA-compatible DPC arrangements. Patients should always confirm eligibility details with their HSA administrator.
Yes. IRS guidance places a monthly cap on the portion of Direct Primary Care membership fees that may be paid using HSA funds. For 2026, this limit is up to $150 per month for individual coverage and $300 per month for family coverage, subject to future IRS adjustments and indexing. Thrive works within these limits to help members maximize tax-advantaged healthcare savings. Patients should verify exact limits with their HSA provider each year, as amounts may change.
Yes. Beginning in 2026, enrollment in a qualifying Direct Primary Care arrangement like Thrive does not disqualify you from contributing to a Health Savings Account. This means you can continue building tax-advantaged healthcare savings while enjoying unlimited primary care access through Thrive.
In addition to eligible membership fees within IRS limits, HSA funds can typically be used for qualified medical expenses such as lab testing, imaging, prescriptions, specialist visits, and other medically necessary services coordinated through Thrive. This allows members to combine predictable primary care access with tax-advantaged healthcare spending.
